Beauty and the Bean is the story of a goofy, meowy orange cat with “no neck” named Bean and Lily, the beautiful but aloof fluffy white cat. Some have noticed they are a bit like the “real-life Aristocats.”
On TikTok, the cats have over 969K fans. It’s all thanks to the hilarious cats’ antics and videos from human mom Cassidy, an Ontario video creator who translates the cats’ meows into funny captions.

Waking Up With Bean Every Day
Every day, thousands enjoy “waking up with Bean” (WUWB) videos. As you can see, the orange and white cat is highly vocal, meowing loudly to speak his mind, and people love hearing what he has to say.
“He truly is one of a kind, broad shoulders, no neck, loud meow, and a big heart,” says Cassidy.

When Bean First Came Home
Notably, Cassidy has always been allergic to cats, and never touched them before they adopted Bean. However, she decided to take a chance when a friend found Bean one day.
Why the name Bean? Well, according to their Instagram, it’s “because when he was little he was full of beans,” all paws and little toe beans.
At the time, Bean was a tiny dirty kitten wandering at a local gas station. After a bath, his personality started to show, a cuddly, clingy, and affectionate little guy. Then, he started exploring his new home and finding new toys to play with. From day one, he loved to meow.
“He was so affectionate and never left our side,” says Cassidy. “We saved each other.”

The Beauty and the Bean Love Story (not really)
Part of what makes Beauty and the Bean so funny is Lily, the pretty kitty with one blue and one green eye.
Bean is around 4 years old, while Lily is 5 or 6. While he weighs about 14 pounds, she is smaller at 9 pounds.
Cassidey decided to adopt Lily, who was found as a pregnant stray cat who had recently given birth to five little white kittens and was then spayed at the shelter. Since Bean was full of “kitteny” energy, she thought he could use a pal. So, Lily came home in November 2017. From the start, she’s been an independent woman who knows she’s a natural beauty.
The First Day of Beauty and the Bean
When they introduced Lily to Bean, they kept them separated in adjoining rooms. However, they could smell each other and play with their paws under the door. Then, they finally met, inspiring a viral video on TikTok and a video by The Dodo. (see below)
“When they finally met, Bean dropped down to her royalty and was just like, ‘I love her,'” said Cassidy.
However, Bean’s love wasn’t returned by Lily. Undaunted, Bean pursued Lily like “Romeo going after his Juliet,” sitting and staring at her wherever she went.
“It’s just the classic relationship where the guy is going after girl out of his league,” she said.
Lily loves Stan
Rather than finding Bean interesting, Lily seems to have her eye on Stanley, Cassidy’s boyfriend. Wherever Stan goes, Lily wants to be there, seeking attention.
“Bean wishes it could be him,” Cassidy says.
On the other hand, Lily has been caught a few times being sweet to Bean. Generally, it’s when she thinks nobody is watching.
“Lily knows how much Bean loves her. She just loves playing hard to get.”

Shaking Off the Haters
Along with the daily Waking Up With Bean fix, Bean is also known for “shaking off the haters.”
Bean likes to “bonk his head, dramatically flop, and shake off the haters,” says his human Cassidy.
A goofy moment
By shaking off the haters, she means:
- Lily (when she doesn’t love him back)
- His human dad (when he leaves for work)
- His mom (when she sleeps in)
- Anyone who says he doesn’t have a neck
- Anyone who says they don’t like cats
