Do you know what makes everything better? Cats. The fluffy, mesmerizing little souls that can cause hours of welcomed blackouts as time passes unnoticed. Snuggle sessions on a gloomy, rainy day are always better with a purring partner. And when these loving moments occur, what better than to watch movies and tv shows that feature cats? I mean, that’s pretty much heaven right there.
But did you know there is a YouTube channel that features the creators’ own cat starring in Hollywood movies? 9
Yes, another one! And no, this time I am not talking about the insanely popular OwlKitty channel. However they have also given props to this new filmmaker after both channels chose to parody Godzilla movies recently.
The channel is called JKK Films and the creator b 1st qehind the scenes is Aiman Samat. And although the channel has been around since 2013, only in the last year has the creator started injecting his cat Wayne into popular movies. In May 2021, Samat sat down with VoyageLA for an interview.
I graduated from Loyola Marymount University in 2019 majoring in Film and TV Production. In school, I was the go-to person for Visual Effects help on student’s projects and films. Before starting film school, I have self-learned VFX since I was around 14 by restarting the Adobe After Effects trial over and over again. The interest came from wanting to make short films that stood out by adding VFX on them.
After graduation, I started freelancing numerous shorts and music videos until I was hired by Ingenuity Studios. During my time there, I got to work on Verizon’s commercial collaboration with the Met Museum and an upcoming Amazon TV show called Solos. During the weekends, I occasionally work on personal projects. They are mainly for fun and are uploaded to my YouTube channel – JKK Films. One of my recent ones is where I put my cat Wayne in the Godzilla vs Kong trailer, which surprisingly garnered 6 million views. [At the time of this article, it had wracked up 7.3 Million views!]
We can find no wrong with that. Because every movie needs a sleek house panther to make it an epic adventure!
So far, there are 4 “catified” or feline starring films to choose from for your viewing pleasure.
The first one was uploaded in May of 2020, after quarantine from Covid19 had recently begun.
Cat off the Counter – The Stay at Home Short Film Challenge
Then came Possessive Cat, uploaded less than a week later.
But it was when he took it to the next level, and put his cat into popular Hollywood movies that people really took notice.

And this is not simple to do in any sense!
I think I’m most proud of being able to take stupid ideas and committing to them 100%. For example, putting my cat in a movie trailer which took a couple of sleepless weekends.
The most recent upload at this time is Justice League but my cat is Batman. And we can’t WAIT to see what he comes up with next!
