It was an exciting day when a rescuer from Nevada, whose name is Kali, took in a litter of six adorable, energetic kittens named the Fast Food Crew. But she had no clue what the universe had been ready to “serve” her.
“I wasn’t planning on taking on new kittens yet, but the Universal Cat Distribution System had other plans!” Kali wrote.
Somehow, the kittens’ feral mother seemed to know that the kittens would receive help if she deposited them in the backyard of Kali’s friend. And it was that friend’s child who named them after fast food items.
Fortunately, the Fast Food Crew was well-established at approximately a month old. Aside from being filthy, they were in overall good health, but were panting from the 110-degree heat of late summer. Since it was a hectic kitten season across the country, shelters and rescues were at full capacity. That left it up to Kali and her wonderful supporters to raise funds for the kittens’ health needs. And that’s just what they did!
The Fast Food Crew
The Fast Food Crew were doing great when they arrived at Kali’s home with their cute names. There were four orange tabbies whose fur seemed to progressively get lighter.
“It was like Mama ran out of printer ink, and each orange cat gets lighter until we hit white,” Kali said.
The Orange Boys:
- Cheeseburger, the biggest wild boy
- Chicken Nugget, a quiet cuddly fellow
- French Fry, AKA Small Fry, the loudest kitten ever!
- Vanilla, a shy and lovely one
And there were two girls, Cola, a tortie, and Milkshake, a pretty Siamese mix. Cola had the classic tortie-tude and was super smart. But all of the Fast Food Crew were little balls of energy, exhausting themselves in the playpen until they melted into a cuddle puddle.

Small Fry, Big Feelings
Although Small Fry was tiny, he made up for it by being among the loudest kittens Kali ever fostered!
“Small Fry, BIG feelings. I swear, this guy just never stops meowing. He has opinions and he NEEDS to share them 😆 “

Biscuit Making and Wrestling Expurrts
Without their mama cat, the Fast Food Crew had biscuit-making contests, which many orphaned kittens do as they miss their mama. Chicken Nugget was a pro at lolling his tongue out while making biscuits.

Time for Takeout for the Fast Food Crew
It wasn’t long before these furry foodies were of age for takeout and finding a permanent home. But first, they had time for a bit of Kitten Fight Club, wrestling endlessly together before going back to biscuit making cuddle puddles.
By early September 2023, Cheeseburger, Cola, and Vanilla had found a home together. Not long after, Chicken Nugget was adopted into a family with three new cat siblings.
That left Milkshake and Small Fry, who also found homes with new buddies.
After seeing them all go home, Kali had a new mission.
“Next mission will be trapping their mom and getting her spayed so we don’t have more little nuggets and fries running around!” she wrote.
However, the mama cat was already working on some new nuggets.
Thankfully, One Last Serving of Nuggets
Although Kali and her friend were trying to find the kitten’s feral mama for TNR (trap, neuter, return), she disappeared. As it turned out, she was inside the home of a neighbor giving birth again!
“Here we go again!” Kali said.
After five days, the kitty family were taken outside. So once again, the semi-friendly mama went to the same backyard looking for help. This time, Kali’s friend caught her in the live trap.
This litter became the Thanksgiving Gang; Cranberry, Green Bean Casserole, Yam, Butterball, and Stuffin’.
“Mama once again showed how smart she is and moved all the newborn babies into my friend’s backyard, so we set out to trap her and them. I’ll post the video of the trapping later, but thankfully, it was a success, so here’s Mama and her 5 babies!”

Thankfully, this would be the mama cat, Mama Turkey’s last litter. Since she’s friendly, Kali hopes she’s going to start the life of an indoor kitty like her adorable babies. You can see more and help support Kali on Instagram and Facebook.
