Here’s a combination we didn’t see coming: Kittens and LEGO bricks! Eleven adoptable kittens took over Fox’s LEGO Masters show for a “LEGO-tastic adventure with a purr-fect twist!”
The adorable cutie kittens appeared thanks to Best Friends Animal Society, which helps cats and dogs across America.
Host Will Arnett introduced the playful kittens to the excited contestants, who couldn’t wait to meet their new furry friends.
“We have some friends that really need a home of their very own,” said the host.
A Catropolis of LEGO Kitten Creations
Eleven teams of two contestants were each assigned a kitten with a unique purrsonality. Their task was to build their kitten an impressive LEGO kitty palace. But while building, they were also socializing with the curious cuties. Even the camera operators got in on the fun!
Each Kitten’s Purrsonality in LEGO Bricks
As they built their interactive funhouses, they needed to incorporate the purrsonality of their kitten into the theme.
- Kitty Pants loves chasing laser pointers
- Stella loves fast-moving vehicles
- Sherlock loves climbing trees and bird-watching
- Felix loves butterflies and insects
- Iggy loves all animals
- Sir Fluffington loves snow and a warm fire
- Sid loves collecting random objects
- Tiger loves dancing and painting with his paws
- Penelope loves fish and fish tanks
- Dame Whiskers loves fashion, hiding in the closet with clothes
- Coco loves the kitchen, cookie jars, and drinking from the tap
Best Friends Animal Society in Houston shared some behind-the-scenes pictures from the show and had a Cuddle Viewing Party with kittens.
The episode appeared on FOX and is available streaming on Hulu.

Interactive and Safe Kitten Fun
It was up to each team’s creativity to design an imaginative, colorful, interactive structure to entertain their kitten’s interests. Structures also had to be safe for the kittens to play in. In general, small plastic pieces aren’t a great idea for kittens, since small pieces could be ingested. Thus, they needed constant supervision. But the overall structure had to be solid enough so kittens couldn’t be injured, too.
One of the biggest challenges seemed to be designing a LEGO palace around Kitty Pant’s interest in lasers. How would the kitten’s team be able to incorporate light beams?
However, all of the contestant’s creativity is inspurrational and some engineered impressive moving elements. And the kittens were all too happy to experience their colorful, wild creations.
The teams had ten hours to create the purrfect palace, no small feat while herding kittens. Needless to say, the kittens stole the show!
In the last season, Arnett said an episode featuring dogs was so successful it led to kittens, and who knows what’s next? Pot-bellied pigs? he joked. We’d love to see more shows with adoptable kittens, cats, and other critters!
