Thousands of cat people, hundreds of vendors and of course dozens of celebrity cats and speakers all under one roof… This was what we experienced at CatCon LA! … The first ever CatCon was a wild ride, the website said “It’s like Comic-Con…but for cat people” and it definitely didn’t disappoint 🙂 The whole day was kind of a blur for me, soooo many people, soooo much cat stuff to look at and so little time… Since Modern Cat Magazine was a sponsor it was great to see a furmiliar face everywhere…

Hey, I know that cat! :)

It was also great to meet a bunch of Cole & Marmalade fans throughout the day, they of course love our fun videos but it was great that many of them appreciated the educational videos we produce as well … which is the main reason we started making videos in the first place 🙂

We attended a couple of presentations throughout the day – “You Can Be a Cat Guy and Still Be Cool” by Keith Bowers the Senior Editor at Catster and “My Cat’s a Celebrity… and How I’ve Dealt With That” featuring Mike Bridavasky and Lil Bub, Kady Lone and Pudge, Will Braden (Henri) and Scott Stulen (Cat Vid Fest), both of which were entertaining and insightful and struck pretty close to home for me, I’m a cool cat guy right?! 🙂

We met up with Jen Bergren of Fetchlight Pet Photography: Fetchlight.com who captured all the purrfect pics of Marm for the Modern Cat magazine article and we also met Byron Gatt the video producer behind “Super Epic Cats” on Youtube, check out their fun videos here: Super Epic Cats!

Overall it was a great day and I’m sure CatCon will be back bigger and better next year and by popular demand I think it’s a safe bet that they’ll be popping up all over the country and maybe even worldwide!? … I would be great to see a CatCon UK 🙂

I went with the intention of filming all day to produce a video diary of the event but got caught up in the madness and failed miserably! … Maybe next year we’ll attend for both days and have a Cole & Marmalade booth as well so we can meet more fans and raise awareness about animal welfare issues close to our hearts (plus we can sit down and drink coffee too:)

Thanks fur reading!
