It still makes my head hurt and my heart ache when I read animal shelter euthanasia stats from around the world, year after year millions of healthy cats and dogs are killed because they couldn’t find a furever home.
This problem is magnified each spring when cats give birth, flooding animal shelters and rescue groups across the nation with homeless litters because too many kittens are born when cats who aren’t spayed and neutered mate!
This is KITTEN SEASON! … and while this might sound great to the average member of the public, it means your local shelter has tons of cute, cuddly newborns and the senior cats are often overlooked when it comes to adoption time.
The easiest way to help reduce the overwhelming numbers of unwanted cats is to spay and neuter your own cat and encourage others to do the same 🙂
